From boosting bioavailability to pairing with the perfect food and drink, here are 5 ways to enhance your CBD experience…
One person’s CBD experience won’t necessarily be the same as the next. This is partly down to the wide variety of CBD products available (some significantly superior to others), but it will also be determined by how you take your CBD.

For CBD oil to work, you need to take it regularly and consistently. Many people who find CBD doesn’t work for them have a tendency to take it ‘as and when’ they need it – in moments of acute stress or pain, for example.
While this may have some effect, it’s incomparable to the benefits that come from daily use over a prolonged period of time. Taking CBD oil in this way allows cannabinoids to accumulate in your body and rebalance all processes via your endocannabinoid system. If you’re out of balance (which is usually the case if you feel the need to take CBD!) this can take a while to remedy.
Give your body a chance, with a little time and 2-3 daily doses.

Did you know that exercise, yoga and meditation have all been shown to naturally produce endocannabinoids – the neurotransmitters CBD oil helps support the synthesis and release of. One pilot study, undertaken at a 4 day yoga retreat, noted that subjects had increases of 20% anandamide, 2-AG and 1-AG after short meditation sessions. Another study published in the Journal of Experimental Biology revealed that 30 minutes on a treadmill resulted in a significant increase in anandamide in the bloodstream. It’s now believed by many experts that endocannabinoid release may in fact be the main cause of the famous ‘runners high’, rather than endorphins.
By pairing CBD oil with exercise, you’re supporting your endocannabinoid system in a truly holistic way. What’s more, there’s evidence to suggest that CBD oil can help with muscle growth and repair too – for less pains after your gains!

Sticking with CBD drops might be perfect for some, but others may benefit from product layering to enhance their experience. While taking CBD internally, using drops, capsules, edibles or a vape, is a great way to find balance overall, targeting specific areas with topicals and transdermals can make a huge difference too.
One study examining the effect of CBD on arthritis found that application on a CBD gel for 4 consecutive days significantly reduced joint swelling, limb posture scores as a rating of spontaneous pain, immune cell infiltration and thickening of the synovial membrane.
Plenty of people also enjoy taking CBD capsules and edibles while topping up with a faster-acting (albeit, with a shorter active life) oil or vape pen. It’s all about finding what works for you!
